Red Alert and Command and Conquer
All of the mentioned games are excellent RTS games. They're gather and build type of RTS (except for C&C 4) and it really can test your strategies and abilities in the strategical realm. I play RA 2 and 3 along with C&C 3, Kanes Wrath and C&C 4.

Re: Red Alert and Command and Conquer
I played C&C a loooong time ago back when they were still using pixels for graphics lol. It was a lot of fun, but I heard the latest C&C games were crappier in quality?
Re: Red Alert and Command and Conquer
In quality, I would say thats false. The newer games are just different. Like I said in my original post, the newest C&C isn't a gather and build unlike the others and people disliked that and gave the game a bad review. The game is actually pretty good in graphic quality and storyline, its just a different type of game play.

Re: Red Alert and Command and Conquer
Yeah it seems they are trying to change the RTS genre with lots of new features. I really like how in DOW you can reinforce existing units and upgrade them as the battle goes on.
Re: Red Alert and Command and Conquer
Yeah. I have never seen Dawn of War. I heard it was a good game but never saw it first hand. Is it a newer game?

Re: Red Alert and Command and Conquer
Well they are up to part 2 now, but Wyzerd and I have been playing part 1 and its an amazing game. No real resource gathering like other FPS, you have to capture strategic points throughout the map and hold them to speed up "requisition" points. Those allow you to build things. Some things like vehicles require energy, to get that resource you build power plants. No funky gas or minerals to harvest LOL
Re: Red Alert and Command and Conquer
Thats what C&C 4 is like. You capture nodes to provide the income to build stuff. Depending on which class you choose (support, defense or attack) depends on what you can build.

Re: Red Alert and Command and Conquer
That sounds nice then I might have to check it out. Im not a big RTS fan I actually only play DOW because im a 40k fan.
Re: Red Alert and Command and Conquer
Mmmk. It has an awesome feature where you can go through the campaign with anyone online and you can save your place. Voice chat is automatically enabled so thats a nice feature as well. It requires an online connection to play, otherwise it wont start up. Not a huge deal unless you're wanting to play it where you don't have internet. If you're interested let me know and we can go through it or something.

You may be able to actually. It's not that much of a demanding game. My computer isn't all that great and i can run it fine.

Re: Red Alert and Command and Conquer
Nothing "bad" about the game. It's just violent. No more violent than Jedi Academy =o
